Lawn Care Treatment Best Practices Prep
Unlock Gates,
Bring Pets Inside,
Clean Up Lawn Before Service.
Light-Medium debris on the lawn is just fine. However, excessive leaves, heavy debris, large branches, toys, or yard clutter must be removed prior to treatment. If thick debris prevents product from reaching the grass and soil, service may be postponed until cleared. Please remove pet waste prior to treatment.
Mowing is recommended either the day before or the day after your scheduled treatment. Although mowing the day of service prior to our arrival is permitted, weeds are more effectively identified and treated when they have not been freshly cut.
-
Lawn Care Treatment Best Practices Post-Treatment
Pets and people may return to the lawn once the product has dried, typically within 2 hours after lawn care service is completed, under normal weather conditions.
For most granular fertilizer and granular grub control applications, light watering within 24 hours helps activate nutrients. However, light rainfall or even moist grass will trigger activation for the nutrient dispersal just as well.
For fertilizer spray, weed control spray or insect control spray applications, the lawn should dry out for at least 2 hours after applied for best results.
Mowing can be done as soon as the lawn is dry, but for best results, wait until the next business day to mow the lawn to allow product to penetrate effectively.
Core Aeration (Spring & Fall)
🌱

Core Aeration Best Practices Prep
Remove excessive debris, heavy leaves, large branches, toys, and pet waste. Light-Medium debris is acceptable, but heavy coverage may delay service.
Mark All Inground Items (Required for Aerations Only), as our core aerator pulls up soil plugs 2-4" deep. Before aeration, homeowners must clearly mark:
• In-ground sprinkler heads
• Invisible or underground dog fences
• Landscape lighting
• Drain lines
• Any other homeowner-installed inground additions
• Note: Utility Lines do not need to be marked.*Storm – The Lawn Pro of the Fox Cities LLC is not responsible for damage to unmarked or improperly marked items during aeration. This marking requirement applies only to aeration services and does not apply to fertilizer or weed control treatments.*
-
Core Aeration Best Practices Post-Care
After aeration, soil plugs will remain on the lawn surface. This is normal and beneficial.
You have three options:
Option 1: Rake & Bag (Mess-Free Option)
You may rake and bag the plugs for a cleaner appearance.Option 2: Let Dry & Mow (Soil Redistribution Option)
Allow plugs to dry for 3–4 days, then mow over them to break them apart and disperse fresh topsoil across the lawn.Option 3: Do Nothing (Most Popular Option)
Leave the plugs to naturally decompose. They will break down and return valuable nutrients to the soil.*Note: If heavy rain occurs shortly after aeration, plugs may become muddy and temporarily messy. This is normal and still beneficial to the lawn, but it may be trail on paws and feet.*
Perimeter Pest/Insect Control (Structural)

Outdoor furniture is moved slightly away from treatment areas if possible
Pets are secured during application
-
Perimeter Pest/Insect Control (Structural - For Home & Buildings) Best Practices Post-Care
Pets and children may return to treated areas once the product has dried, typically within 2 hours.
Avoid washing treated foundation areas for at least 24 hours to allow proper residual performance.
For best results, maintain trimmed vegetation around the home’s perimeter to help extend the treatment’s effectiveness.
